Association Headquarters is searching for an Application Coordinator for its client partner, The Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC). BGC is a Lansing, Michigan-based organization. The Board for Global EHS Credentialing (BGC) is the premier global credentialing body for professionals who protect and enhance the health, safety, and environment of people at work and in their communities. Our rigorous, reliable, and valid credentialing process elevates the expectations of professionals who work in the environment, health, and safety (EHS) fields and allows them to demonstrate their commitment and ability to work at the highest level. BGC understands the importance of impartiality in carrying out its certification activities, so the Board and staff manage conflicts of interest and ensure the objectivity of all certification activities. BGC will evaluate all applicants and Certificants using the criteria established and will not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, national origin, religion, age, disability, political affiliation, sex, sexual orientation, marital, parental, military, or any other legally protected status. Position Description Summary: The Application Coordinator implements the processes for applying and reapplying for BGC credentials and supports candidates through the certification process. Essential Function(s) of the Position: Review applications and approve those that meet the requirements of the credential on a timely basis. Support candidates through the certification process, with steps including application, requirements, supporting documentation, and general/technical questions. Enter the application and other data in the certification database. Review application data and documentation for completeness. Address complaints, resolve problems, and answer questions from candidates and certified individuals. Monitor internal processes related to applications and make recommendations for process improvements, communication enhancements, or other solutions. Provide input for accreditation reports and internal monitoring reports. Identify and monitor trends in applications. Develop and revise resources and procedures to be disseminated to candidates via the web and other communication vehicles. Maintain customer confidence/protect operations by maintaining confidentiality. Prepare electronic and hard-copy communications and mailings. Respond to phone calls and correspondence. Ensure accurate recordkeeping for historical reference. Assist with application payments and documentation. For potential candidate outreach, conduct virtual presentations on the application process, clarify requirements, and answer questions. The administrative contact for phone and internet systems, setup, problem-solving, messaging, and maintenance. Assist with processing incoming and outgoing mail. Coordinate with volunteer committees for application reviews and examination scoring and with the Board and its subcommittees. Maintain technical knowledge. Other tasks as required to meet organizational needs. Functions and Tasks Related to Examinations: Assist candidates with exam payments, exam exceptions/payments, testing accommodations, scheduling, problem-solving, and next steps. Upload applicants to testing vendors and download score reports to document scores for examinees. Correspondence with staff for passes, fails, retakes, expired, or candidates that can be credentialed. Functions and Tasks on As Needed Basis: Move paper to digital records and work with IT services to resolve technical issues for staff, applicants, and candidates. Assist with internal audits of other BGC areas, as requested. Education and Experience: High school diploma required Five years of experience in administrative support preferred An associate degree or one to two years of vocational training in office administration is preferred or a related field is desired but not required.
