Loader Operator/ Repairman

SUMMARY Reporting to the Foreman, the Loader Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Loader. This position operates loaders equipped with front-mounted hydraulically powered bucket or scoop which is used to transport aggregate or other materials, feed hoppers or chutes, and/or stock pile aggregates. DUTIES Operate the Loader and other heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Understand and follow directions from supervisors as to required work area. Operate Loader controls to lower and tilt bucket and drive forward to force bucket into bulk material; Move lever to raise and tilt bucket when filled, or to dump material. Ensure a sound understanding of the issues involving ground disturbance. Operate Loader on public or private roadways, maintaining proper awareness of ones surroundings. Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the Loader. Operate other heavy equipment and other construction related duties as required REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or G.E.D. preferred Vocational studies diploma in the operation of heavy machines (asset) One year of experience preferred Knowledge road construction materials, road construction processes and industry requirements. Understanding of computerized controls and electronics Operate the equipment in a safe and productive manner STANDARD REQUIREMENTS Demonstrated commitment to safety as expressed in JMAC Energy Services corporate value People First, Safety Always Valid US issued driver's license with a good driving record Ability to pass background and drug and alcohol tests Availability to work long hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required Ability to work safely in all types of weather Timely and regular attendance is an expectation of performance for all JMAC Energy Services employees. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to work independently and in a group or team environment The employee must have the ability to lift and/or move more than 50 pounds Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
