A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A VEHICLE BODY & FABRICATION MECHANIC As a Naturescape Vehicle Equipment Fabrication/Mechanic, you take pride in repairing equipment to the highest performance standards, whether that means keeping a late-model vehicle looking like new, or restoring hard-used equipment to its former glory. The exact shape of your day depends on the work that needs doing, and before you even get started on the physical work, you've already begun planning what needs to be done and when to make the best use of your day. Once your plan is set, you get to work. You might employ your welding knowledge to repair vehicle body work, align patch panels, add new metal to damaged areas, or restore welds in new metal. You may find creative solutions to repair broken parts, re-engineering them for better performance. As a finishing touch, you're the one to repaint vehicles, ensuring that they not only work like new, but look like it, too. In addition to vehicles, you put your skills to work on our branch's small equipment and trailers, rebuilding, repairing and fabricating as necessary. Ultimately, your decisions and priority management keep the branch's field operations running smoothly.
