Sayres is seeking Electrical Engineers (I, II, III) , preferred with Confidential level Clearance or ability to obtain in support of NSWC PD (Philadelphia Division) in Philadelphia PA . A hybrid work environment with some required on-site meetings is authorized for this position. In support of the Navy's Land Based Test Site (LBTS) the Electrical Engineer will perform the following duties: Develop conceptual engineering sketches and/or layout drawings of proposed equipment, systems and/or systems/equipment installation & integration. Perform on-site investigations of NSWCPD facilities and utilities to determine the adequacy of existing resources relative to the proposed Testing & Evaluation (T&E) program/project. Conduct surveys of the proposed test site(s) to identify required modifications to existing facilities and utilities. Spatial and structural implications relative to site access, transport, installation and operation of equipment shall be considered and reported on. Review all drawings for correctness and completeness and provide a Quality Assurance (QA) checklist Develop the preliminary rip-out plans and drawings including, but not limited to, detailing the equipment, foundations, wiring, and any other items to be removed, how they will be removed, the disposition of equipment, details of any equipment, structures or ancillary equipment that can remain or be reused, the impact on support services including electrical, cooling water, ventilation, and the schedule of all activities Conduct Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) and acoustic noise surveys. Preparation of utilities-interface and requirements, preliminary drawings of electrical systems for Government review. Prepare detailed specifications of all electrical components and equipment. Ensure that all specifications meet applicable military, commercial and industrial standards, Design Data, and Calculations/Specifications. Conduct engineering analysis, including electrical systems analysis (such as load flow, short circuit, system coordination, and power quality analysis), and provide documentation of the results. Electrical Engineer I Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and 0-3 years of professional experience in electrical and electronics engineering design, development, and testing, including experience with electrical power generation, distribution, conversion, and Proficient in using computer-aided drafting (CAD) Electrical Engineer II Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and 3 years of professional experience in electrical and electronics engineering design, development, and testing, including two years of experience with electrical power generation, distribution, conversion, and Proficient in using computer-aided drafting (CAD) Electrical Engineer III Bachelor's in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and 5 years of professional experience in electrical and electronics engineering design, development, and testing, including two years of experience with electric motors and machinery controls. Proficient in using AutoCAD and versioning to design, and modify electrical drawings Experience designing electrical power systems: switchboards, motor-generator sets, transformers, distribution equipment, power converters and cabling for systems up to 50MW and 13.8 KV; Experience integrating diesel engines and generators; shipboard propulsion motors and similarly rated load generators and load banks. Experience designing Control Networks with Cabling: Including control consoles, control interface units, system instrumentation, networking switches, fiber optic cable systems, video camera systems, communication systems, building automation systems, fire alarm systems, and data acquisition systems . Experience leading and supervising electrical/electronics engineering teams to successfully complete detailed design packages. Preferred Skillsets: Experience with relevant HM&E systems include: Electrical Power Systems; Diesel Engines and Generators, Shipboard Propulsion Motors, Control Networks and Cabling, Machinery Shafting and Transmission Systems, Machinery Foundations, Piping Systems, Water Chillers and Chilled Water Systems, HVAC, Outfitting Systems, Auxiliary Equipment (pumps, compressors, fans, blowers, heat exchangers, etc. The position description is only meant to be a representative summary of the major responsibilities and accountabilities performed by the incumbents of this position.
