POSITION OVERVIEW: ITC Office of the Chief Technology Officer serves as an ITC corporate function to provide thought leadership and support to all ITC programs with necessary technology, tools, processes, and technology vendor partnerships to meet program objectives in support of their customer needs. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Lead Subject Matter Expert/Cloud Architect to join our team in supporting the CTO office and ITC programs with the following roles and responsibilities: The Cloud Architect is responsible, with our established programs, team of SMEs, and client change managers, integration engineers, system engineers and business analysts, for discovery and assessment of the current environment/applications and for developing cloud accelerators for migration to cloud infrastructure, network, and connectivity business enabling solutions. This role will serve as a solution architect providing strategic and technical leadership for program and customers teams to assess the current cloud environment, develop technology accelerators, identify optimizing opportunities, and develop IT modernization roadmaps The Cloud Architect is responsible for evaluating customers' current and anticipated needs, developing innovative solutions, developing infrastructure architectures, evaluating current applications and current data center footprints, and providing cloud implementations according to industry best practices and standards. This role will work with other members of the OCTO and program teams to maintain and enhance a Cloud Resource Center with architectural blue prints, playbooks, standards, guide lines, processes, and other reusable templates. The Cloud Architect will work closely with program teams to gather feedback on Cloud Resource Center reusable assets and update as needed Our ideal candidate is a Cloud SME with multicloud expertise, preferably with extensive Azure knowledge/exposure. We are looking for a highly technical individual who will guide our program leaders through issues/problems, but also someone willing to roll up their sleeves to solve the issue themself. They will be assisting with designing delivery frameworks and architecting blueprints for cloud solutions that meet NIST Standards. The position will be 60 % strategy (building cloud center of excellence, developing and maintaining cloud content resource center, building demos, writing playbooks) and 40% project delivery (leaning in on exisiting or future projects and providing solutions or blueprints to deliver strategically) RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide thought and technical design leadership to hybrid and multi cloud solutioning Serve as the SME for multiple infrastructure and cloud technologies for multiple programs Serve as a technical SME for multiple cloud modernization and migration projects Assess current technology stack/application portfolio and make recommendations for optimization Work with the CTO to develop and enhance Cloud Center of Excellence with templates, blueprints, playbooks, and other reusable assets Contribute toward developing and publishing thought leadership blogs and articles Act as a change agent for technologies and supporting processes to maximize results measured by performance and availability, business agility, technology freshness, and cost optimization Lead cloud infrastructure and network architecting sessions, evaluating tradeoffs between design, risk, and technology Execute prototypes and technical feasibility assessments for cloud solutions Apply advanced technical knowledge and skills in developing cloud infrastructure and network solutions or problem solving where complexity, innovation and technical expertise are required Migrate existing on-premises applications to cloud leveraging a structured method and best practices Develop processes and procedures for applications' migration to hybrid or multiple cloud, as well as managed services in the cloud As part of the Cloud Architect role, you will be focused on cloud infrastructure and network connectivity solution and development, inclusive of: You will lead and facilitate information gathering sessions with multiple programs and and technical leaders to discover and assess the current state infrastructure, validate business cases, gather and document business and functional objectives Through various communication vehicles and methods (e.g., meetings, application demos, emails, workshops, etc.) develop, innovate and implement technical solutions for hybrid and multiple cloud projects including migration of existing applications/capabilities and users, and/or provision of new applications/capabilities and users Engage with the clients to secure buy-in for the adoption of cloud-based solutions, through workshops and briefs as necessary Recommend technology strategy by understanding key client objectives; diagnosing and mapping client requirements; articulating solution risks and barriers; recommending delivery approaches; preparing time estimates; planning full project life cycle Develop, contribute, and evaluate technical designs related to hybrid and multiple cloud infrastructure and network implementations Provide expertise to construct the architecture and solutions to support current and future business needs, and to ensure the successful implementation and adoption of cloud services Develop and implement activities, such as but not limited to, sequencing, architecture, assumptions, dependencies and agency buy-in that shall include an end-to-end view of the overall implementation approach to migrate current and future systems and users to cloud platform services Throughout the projects you will participate in status meetings on progress, priorities, issues, performance issues, and future work REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems Management or similar preferred Senior level architect with more than 7 years of planning, architecting, and engineering enterprise class cloud systems and services Strong background in multiple clouds, cloud governance, and cloud migration projects; Azure experience, preferred At least one Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Architect certification (at least Associate level) Experience with working with clients on cloud migration projects Experience with developing cloud strategy document leveraging a cloud adoption framework Experience with designing and implementing cloud architectures Experience with cloud migration projects, especially from on-prem to AWS, or Azure, or GCP Experience in conducting cloud migration assessment, and developing cloud migration roadmap Experience working with vendor-neutral infrastructure as code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, etc.) Experience with enterprise IT storage architectures and how they integrate into large-scale production applications Experience with advanced storage technologies such as replication, high availability, archiving, backup & restore, and disaster recovery/business continuity Experience with Agile software development and DevOps including Azure DevOps Experience architecting and supporting Kubernetes clusters In depth knowledge and hands on experience with the full range of cloud service providers/solutions, inclusive of AWS, GCP, and Microsoft Azure offerings Must have proven success in consulting to CTO-level clients Proven experience in assessment, evaluation, and documentation of client environment, data centers infrastructure, processes, and operations WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS: N/A ITC Federal, Inc. is an equal opportunity/affirmative action employer and will not discriminate against any application for employment on the basis of age, race, color, gender, national origin, religion, creed, disability, veteran status, marital status, sexual orientation, genetic information, military status, disability, or sex including pregnancy and childbirth or related medical condition or on any other basis prohibited by law.
