Our Electrical Journeyman receive regular training opportunities to promote career advancement in the solar power industry, including OSHA, NFPA and NABCEP courses, as well as certifications in first aid, safety and operation of equipment. Position Location Requirements This job will require working outside in varying weather conditions. There is work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs to install, maintain or repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures. There may be times when work is required in a small confined space, including attics and crawl spaces. This position requires the moving of the entire body for standing, climbing, lifting, walking, balancing, twisting, stooping, reaching, and handling various materials. Excellent hand-eye coordination is a necessity in this position to grasp, manipulate, or assemble items. This position requires the lifting and carrying of up to 50 pounds, without assistance. Electrician trade school coursework is preferred. Minimum of four years of experience as an electrician is required. Valid electrical license is required. Successful work history as an electrician. Strong knowledge of various residential electrical systems. Working knowledge of appropriate usage of power and hand tools. Thorough knowledge of safety procedures, electrical codes and applicable local building codes. Ability to create and/or read sketches or follow blueprints to determine the location of wiring and equipment and to ensure proper conformance to all local building codes and safety codes. Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Excellent critical thinking ability. Effective interpersonal communication skills, including active listening with co-workers and customers. Responsibilities Include: Strategic: Connecting LED and Solar equipment such as inventors and panels to power supply and solar grids. Perform voltage testing, inspections, assessments, and liaising with clients on issues that require attention. Selecting, installing, and preserving the functionality of wires, plugs, panelboards, and switchgear. Transport equipment and tools to and from job site, if needed. Inventory tracking. Knowledge of DAS communication hardware and LV communication wiring Logging time, schedules, and resources to track cost Interpreting blueprint, engineering plans, and schematics. . Identifying, analyzing, troubleshooting. Perform electrical wiring and calibration of equipment Make repairs as necessary. Complete maintenance work orders as necessary. Measure materials as well as cutting, stripping, bending electrical wires, tracing shorted circuits, and checking for loose connections. Increase job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities. Enhance organization reputation by exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Tactical: Install, test, maintain, and repair electrical or electronic systems, equipment, and fixtures, using appropriate power and hand tools. Inspect and diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and appropriate hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem, ensuring compliance with all applicable local building codes and electrical codes. Utilize blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manufacturer's installation manuals to complete assigned projects.
