Inside Sales Representative

Description:
Position Summary: Sells products and services to business and industrial customers. Works from corporate office and conducts most business via phone, e-mail, or other electronic method. Researches manufacturability and prepares quotes. May visit customers and/or attend trade shows as needed. Essential Functions: Responsible for continuous personal improvement to positively affect department and corporate goals. Processes incoming RFQ; reviews prints, investigates specification and compares to capacity and manufacturability; prepares quotes. Overcomes technical and business objections of prospective customers. Emphasizes salable features, quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained. Coordinates and oversees outside services for manufacturing. Estimates date of delivery to customer, based on knowledge of own firm's production and delivery schedules. Communicates delivery issues and follows up with customer to verify delivery of product. Builds and maintains customer relationships by responding to inbound sales lead calls. Prepares reports of business transactions, status reports, etc. Works with outside sales representatives to keep account activities and literature up to date. Investigates and resolves customer problems with deliveries. Enters new customer data and other sales data for current customers into computer database. May travel to and meet with customer as required; may attend trade shows. May act as internal or external ISO auditor. Keep work area neat and orderly. Receives, understands and follows all written and oral instruction. Communicate all concerns and other work related issues to supervisor. Complete all paperwork and electronic entry associated with position. Comply with all company policies and procedures including safety and attendance requirements. Other duties required to meet company needs as assigned by supervisor. Minimum Skills, Education & Abilities High School diploma or equivalent. At least 2-3 years of experience in equivalent position in the metal or manufacturing industry. Math abilities including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and fractions. Technical ability including blue print reading skills. Good communication skills including the ability to receive oral and written instruction and provide information to outside customers, employees and management. Ability to prioritize and organize work. Minimum Physical Requirements 20/40 vision required with or without correction. Ability to speak and hear 100% of the workday. Use of hands 100% of the workday. Sedentary position, ability to sit and work at a workstation for 8 hours. Minimal walking, lifting, bending, stooping, twisting. Ability and willingness to travel overnight up to 25% of the time to meet with customers and/or attend trade shows. Typical of a manufacturing environment. Exposure to dust, fumes, noise and vibration on a regular basis.
