Production Scheduler

Description:
OVERVIEW Plans and prepares production schedules to optimize production capacity, resources, and efficiencies. Work to minimize corporate cost through proper planning and utilization of labor and material. Coordinates with manufacturing, inventory planning, purchasing, customer services, and shipping in order to minimize interruptions to production and manage/meet customer expectation. RESPONSIBILITES Prepares master schedule to establish sequence and lead time of each operation to meet shipping dates according to customer orders and establish lead times. Work with Central Production Control and Customer Services personnel on issue with items, Bill of Materials (BOM), routes, and CPQ trouble logs resulting in root cause and issue resolution. Perform calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tolls, and human resource requirements. Request and review sales quantities by item to adjust safety stock and batch sizes on common and slow-moving items. Monitor and review inventory levels by items and sales group monthly inventory report. Plans and schedules workflow of each department and operation according to previously established manufacturing sequences, lead times, and MFG codes. Confers with production managers, and supervisors to determine status of production order Expedite operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions. Prepares production reports daily and monthly. EDUCATION & SKILLS REQUIRED Minimum High School Degree, A.A./A.S. preferred. Strong math background Utilizes ERP/VPI systems to determine requirements, analyze production specifications, and plant capacity data. Logic understanding as pertaining to optimizing production planning, plant production equipment capacities and limitations. Proficiency with MRP, VPI, MRPII, or ERP system required. Strong Access/Excel/Electronic database skills required. Strong written and verbal communications skills. Effective interpersonal skills. WHY JOIN DMI COMPANIES?
