WELCOME TO YOUR CENTER! Established as a community non-profit in 1972, The Center provides targeted programs and services to the full diversity of the San Diego LGBTQ community. The mission of The Center is to enhance and sustain the health and well-being of the lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, transgender, nonbinary, immigrant, and HIV communities for the betterment of our entire San Diego region. Our vision is to create a Center and Center culture where every person feels and knows that they are welcomed, valued, and supported. As the beacon for our regional LGBTQ community, we actively recommit to being a more vibrant, bold, innovative, safe, and modern center each day than the day before. The Center is sex-positive and provides advocacy and critical health and social support services to support our community members through all stages of life, focusing on our deeply held values of equity, social justice, and client-centered, trauma-informed care. The Center currently has over 75 staff working at five facilities across San Diego County. As of 04/01/2023, the Center has relaxed its COVID-19 vaccination requirement for employment. New employees are encouraged but not required to be vaccinated. The Centre reserves the right to amend this requirement based on health concerns and/or governmental recommendations to protect the well-being of our community. If this requirement changes, employees will have 30 days to comply. POSITION SUMMARY Reporting to the Senior Director of Programs, the Director of Sexual Health and Wellness provides day-to-day oversight of all sexual health prevention, education, and linkage to care services at The Center and supervises a team of three (3) to six (6) staff. Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to: overseeing HIV, HCV, and STI screening and education activities; sexual health team scheduling and supervision; intervention and study participation coordination and implementation; overseeing contract budgets and expenditures; accurate completion of various internal and external program reports; ensuring the program is compliant with all licensing and certification requirements; ensuring accurate client and service data is input into various program databases, and all client files are complete to meet contract requirements; overseeing program training and outreach activities; and representing The Center at various community meetings/events. The ideal candidate will have excellent writing and research skills, budgeting experience, project management skills, data analysis skills, achieving contract and grant deliverables, and experience creating outcomes and logic models. They will be highly organized and detail-oriented, a strategic thinker with the ability to meet deadlines. They will also have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Duties for the Director of Sexual Health and Wellness will include managing the day-to-day execution of logistical and administrative functions of The Center's Sexual Health and Wellness testing programs, budget management, program management, meeting logistics, records management, assuring data quality, office communications, personnel onboarding, and supervising the Sexual Health and Wellness Managers and Community Health Educators. PRIMARY ROLES and RESPONSIBILITIES Leadership: Manage day-to-day operations of the Sexual Health and Wellness Department, which includes management of direct reports, testing calendar, outreach events, objective achievement, and coordination and overall oversight of the program. Supervise/mentor all assigned staff, teams, and departments. Provide guidance/direction in the development and execution of any work plans and projects, Provide guidance/direction for career planning, performance challenges, and evaluations. Facilitate and guide staff through planning outreach events. Increase the participation of individuals from priority populations through targeted inreach and outreach Ensure Program Deliverables are Met Perform data collection, data entry, maintenance, and timely submission of documents for monthly reports and track client enrollment/activities and contractual program documentation and reporting requirements. Monitor program performance monthly, present data to Center Leadership, and develop all external reports to stakeholders. Serve as Principle Investigator and or Program Director for Federal, State, County, and other funded contract and grant awards. Represent The Center Promote the agency's Welcoming Culture in all program interactions, processes, and functions. Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including funders, partners, and subcontractors. Serve as the primary point of contact for all inquiries related to contract and grant awards. Represent The Center at meetings with program stakeholders, funders, or community members. Attend and successfully complete all required training programs; participate in ongoing conference calls, webinars, and other professional development opportunities. Oversee Operations of Sexual Health and Wellness Program Demonstrate administrative and leadership acumen in the following areas: finance, budgeting, information systems utilization, and grievance/complaint resolution. Manage program budget, develop spending plans, monitor monthly budget-to-actuals, and coordinate program spending. Order supplies and materials as needed for the programs. Review and update written policies, procedures, protocols, and standards of care for services Maintain client records using approved forms and procedures, ensuring compliance with HIPAA best practices Conduct HIV, HCV, and STI testing and counseling. Serve as a backup test counselor to ensure coverage when needed. Assist the team with crisis management and de-escalation as needed. Ensure clients are linked to primary medical care, substance recovery-oriented services, and other essential support services Participate in required department, inter-departmental and agency-wide meetings, training, and activities, which may include some evening and weekend hours. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience : A minimum of seven years of HIV prevention experience; Certification as a California HIV test counselor. Leadership : Three to five years of team leadership. Computer Skills : Must be comfortable working in PC/Windows-based environments. Must have proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, Outlook, and Excel. Other Skills : Must demonstrate competence in working with various populations. Must demonstrate a client-centered, sex-positive, non-judgmental attitude about sexual health. Must have excellent interpersonal communication skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks with shifting priorities. Those with lived experience as a member of a historically under-served community (i.e., low income, communities of color, LGBT communities, immigrant communities, etc.) are strongly encouraged to apply. Language Skills : Fluency in English is required. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Education and/or Experience : Experience with HIV Research; California licensed Phlebotomist (CPTI); Ability to conduct Determine rapid HIV test, and additional HER experience all strongly preferred. Leadership : Five to seven years of team leadership. Computer/Office Equipment Skills : Experience with data validation, data management, SPARS, LEO, or using electronic health records is preferred. Language Skills : Fluency in Spanish is preferred. COMPENSATION and BENEFITS: Compensation : The pay range for this position is $71,760.00 to $78,000.00 and is commensurate with experience.
