Position Summary The IT Manager is accountable for overall management of the IT needs, including monitoring and maintaining IT and digital telecom applications, systems, and services. Provides extensive technical support, consulting and communication with internal customers including healthcare and administrative staff, as well as managing and maintaining relationships with external partners including vendor and outsourcing agencies. Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities Evaluates applications and systems, assesses software and hardware upgrades, resolves complex IT issues and problems. Manages and maintains networks and related functions. Monitors and manages operational systems including EHR, telephony and Practice Management systems. Manages contracted IT services agreements, system vendors and software project managers. Manages IT budget and costs. Develops and monitors annual IT risk assessments and implement corrective security and compliance policies and measures. Develops and manages backups, disaster recovery, and continuity of operation plans for IT systems. Develops and manages data management functions including governance, architecture, storage, security, analysis, and reporting. Manages IT projects including updates, migrations, and upgrades. Acts as Chair of the IT Committee; participates in Risk Management, Compliance and IT business interruption and emergency operations planning. Manages and assists with the resolution of end-user and help desk issues as needed. Trains employees on software and hardware and provides technical support as needed. Supervises and mentors IT staff. Aligns IT systems with business and clinical processes. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Education Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, computer science, or related field. Master's Degree in related field desirable. Licensure/Certification Certified Information Technology Manager (CITM) or comparable certificate in IT or related field desired. Experience At least 3-5 years of experience in IT management, preferably in a medical setting Experience with network administration, administering servers, and migration. Experience with managing operational systems in healthcare including Electronic Health Records Experience with SQL program applications. Experience working with medical staff in a healthcare setting highly preferred. Experience managing outsourced partner relationships. Experience with clinical assessment, billing , planning, protocol development, standards, policies, and procedures highly preferred. Experience with Clinic and ASC EHR and Practice Management system highly preferred; EPIC experience desirable. Competencies Required Knowledge Knowledge of IP addressing schemes, VPNs, Internet, SIP, Protocol, VM Server network applications, digital telecom systems and related functions. Knowledge of cloud computing and related services. Knowledge of IT industry standards for computer hardware and software systems. Understanding of healthcare clinical and business processes. Knowledge of clinical, administrative, financial, and other healthcare operational systems functioning and integration. Working knowledge of program applications and criteria. Understanding of data management areas and activities. Knowledge of organizational leadership philosophies and a willingness to continue striving for greater leadership learning. Knowledge of people change management principles and frameworks. Skills Possesses strong interpersonal and communication skills. Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills. Demonstrates professionalism and respect in all forms of communication and correspondence. Demonstrates proficiency with the application of change management principles. Proficient computer skills working in an Electronic Medical Record (EMR), Practice Management software, and Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, Microsoft 365. Decision-making, problem-solving skills to solve IT related issues. Exhibits a high level of phone and customer service skills and etiquette. Abilities Exhibits professionalism and sound judgment in all matters as a member of leadership in the organization. Ability to practice integrity by showing an uncompromising adherence to strong moral and ethical principles and values. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of personnel, fiscal, health, and business information. Ability to work in a fast paced, multi-tasking environment while managing rapidly changing demands and re-prioritizing as needed. Ability to interpret regulations and write appropriate policies relevant to quality initiatives. Ability to assess situations for continuous process improvement. Ability to prepare and present adult learning materials, and successfully train adult learners as evidenced by successful use of systems.
