JOB TITLE: Recreation Coordinator DEPARTMENT: HealthDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:- Responsible for day to day operations of the Meskwaki Recreation Services.- Responsible for maintaining adequate supplies for the facility at all times.- Develop and maintain annual program budget.- Recruit, supervise, develop assignments and duties, and coordinate training, education, and prevention for all recreation staff.- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and scheduling for hours of operation.- Design and implement recreational programs to include year-round recreation programs.- Develop schedule for fitness/rec activities in and out of the facility.- Maintain electronic record keeping and submit monthly reporting to the Health Director.- Maintain appropriate certification standards for staff.- Develop and implement quality assurance and quality improvement standards to all program goals and objectives.- Assist with monitoring of facility as needed.- Assist with fitness equipment upkeep and perform minor maintenance as needed.- Assist in the development, implementation, and maintenance of program policies and regulations.- Administrate a broad area of recreational and fitness activities.- Evaluate staff and overall recreation program concerning program goals and scope of work.- Work cooperatively with youth, adult and all other organizations in the community.- Work a varied schedule to include evenings and weekends depending on season and activities.- Assist with developing advertising, marketing and promotional materials for the recreation facility.- Perform public relations functions for the recreation department such as responding to public inquiries, comments, and complaints. Represents the department at community functions.- Maintain social media presence through various platforms.- Other duties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:- Bachelor's Degree in Parks, Recreation and Aquatics or closely related field or a combination of 3 years education and experience related to Recreation and Aquatics.- Strong leadership and management skills with demonstrated knowledge of the fundamental and accepted practices in Recreation and Aquatics operations and administration.- Be in good health, have a current TB test, and maintain certification in CPR/First Aid and Mandatory Reporter training.- General understanding of computer programs and applications.- Ability to work with all ages.- Strong communication skills and experience with project management.- Prefer experience working the Native Americans.- Must possess valid driver's license.- Must respect Meskwaki cultural beliefs.- Must submit to and successfully complete background investigation.SUPERVISION:- Will be supervised by the Health Director.SALARY LEVEL:- Annual Salary Range: $69,576 - $115,648 Job Posted by ApplicantPro
