Company: Children's Habilitation Center Website: https://childhabcenter.com/ Compensation: Commensurate with experience; Generous Sign-On Bonus offered upon hire Classification: Full Time; Non-Exempt Reports to: Director of Respiratory Therapy Shift Options: Day Shift (6a-6:30p), Night Shift (6p-630am) Purpose: The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing comprehensive respiratory therapy services, as prescribed, in compliance with CHC policies and procedures and established respiratory therapy standards. Leads team in assigned patient care activities. Serves as a role model by continually adhering to behavioral and professional standards and holding staff accountable to the same expectations/standards; empowers Associates to make decisions relevant to their daily work responsibilities. Provide self as a resource to staff members as well as to other providers of patient care. Motivate and inspire the staff through and environment of trust, cohesive team effort. Responsible for the shift-to-shift assignment of work and resources including allocations of staff, equipment assignments, and scheduling in collaboration with manager. Monitor the performance of Respiratory Care Practitioners in their delivery of patient care services and behavior. Ensure that clinical staff deliver timely and appropriate care including respiratory assessments, therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, with quality standards established by the organization and Respiratory Therapy Department. Participates in new associate orientation process and training. Participate in assessment of the competency level of respiratory staff. Coach and assist with developing staff, assist with behavioral issues, facilitate problem-solving, collaboration, and resolution of technical staff issues/concerns in a timely manner. Collaborate with department management and staff to identify equipment needs, coordinate product evaluations, and implementation of new processes, equipment, and products. Evaluate and intervene when encountering issues and work toward conflict resolution to include customer service and quality issues as per department and organizational policy standards. Will be required to have assigned days to be on call for shift coverage when shortage occurs. On-call shifts will rotate accordingly with the two Charge RTs. Qualifications Graduation from an accredited respiratory therapy training program. One year experience, preferably in a pediatric setting. Must have a current Illinois State License as a Respiratory Care Practitioner as a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT).
