Weather Shield Roofing is a commercial roofing company operating out of West and Central Michigan, with crews in Grand Rapids, Kalamazoo, and Lansing. Weather Shield is seeking roofers, which involves removal of existing roofs, fixing roofs, and installation of new roof systems. This position involves working on a team under a foreman and a superintendent. Applicant must be willing and able to follow directions from their supervisor and be fully compliant with all safety regulations. Experience is not necessary, but a plus! WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU While you may not have to have experience being a roofer you must be willing and able to learn. We usually work Monday through Friday with some Saturdays. Since our business is weather dependent applicants must be available and willing to work Monday - Saturday, 7 am - 7 pm. We like our crews working no more than 55 hours a week. We don't provide transportation so applicants must have reliable transportation or a way to arrive at a job site on time. Must be willing to take a drug test and be Authorized to work in the U.S. Show up on time every day and bring it Ability to work well in a team environment and ask what can I do next? Have a general knowledge of construction Ability to lift 50+ pounds a couple times an hour Mobility to stand, bend, and kneel repeatedly for extended periods of time Ability to climb ladders frequently and independently to work on elevated roof surfaces (you can't be afraid of heights) Enjoy working outdoors even in extreme weather conditions...both hot and cold Learn, master, and contribute to improve Weather Shield safety policies, procedures, and systems Safety training is provided as well as specific training for tasks related to roofing installation techniques that will provide a new team member valuable skills in a high-demand career.
