Turner Industries is looking for a Pressure Vessel Engineer in the Decatur, AL area. Relocation is available for this position PRIMARY FUNCTION: Interface with potential clients and customers to discover Pressure Vessel sales opportunities. Estimate vessel and tank inquiries and remain actively involved throughout the sales process. Produce design calculations using Compress Pressure Vessel Software. Complete Bills of Material and requisitions for purchase of vessel components. Supervise technical engineering drawings for shop fabrication. Ensure calculations and drawings comply with ASME Section VIII Div. 1, customer engineering standards, jurisdictional codes, specifications, etc. TYPICAL DUTIES: Interpret customer inquiry design/drawings and produce sufficient detailed information to meet ASME Code, customer specifications and the needs for all aspects of shop fabrication. Maintain records, lists, and reports as required to ensure compliance with the customers (design/build) and schedule, adherence to the budget, adherence to customer procurement specification, or to ensure problems are monitored and resolved. Research and resolve drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interferences, and the like. Prepare field design change requisitions and "as built" drawings, as required. Prepare (or direct the preparation of) and disseminate all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc. Provide supervision and/or technical direction, (i.e., print interpretation, design intent, construction feasibility), to engineers, crafts, and/or superintendents assigned to area of work to ensure work is completed in proper sequence. Present design discrepancies to customers or engineering management for resolution - prepare documentation (field design change requests, beyond normal scope reports, etc.), as required. Perform additional assignments per managers direction. Travel to jobsites for the purpose of sales, determination of potential issues, engineering meetings, troubleshooting, etc. is required occasionally. SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, QUALIFICATIONS, & EXPERIENCE: Educational and experience requirements include: 4-year engineering degree Working knowledge of ASME Code Section VIII Div. 1 pressure vessels Ability to assume responsibility, interface and communicate with others is essential.
