Description:
Responsible for all aspects of the authorization process in the Pediatric Department, for Speech, Physical, and Occupational Therapy. Assist with tracking reports regarding authorizations and/ or patient lists. Maintains the authorized schedule for clients to receive therapy services. JOB DUTIES/ KNOWLEDGE: 1. Responsible for the authorization process with appropriate payer sources: Requests, inputs, and tracks authorizations.2. Directs to appropriate department persons when authorization is required and/ or received.3. Responsible for creating and maintaining patient schedules.4. Keeps track of designated patient authorizations/schedules using spreadsheets and reports.5. Prepares and maintains accurate reports for Therapy Department meetings.6. Tracks outstanding documentation and or orders, to ensure authorization requests are submitted timely.7. Responsible for communication with families, therapists, insurance representatives, and/or MD offices.8. Responsible for maintaining compliance of MD orders and insurance requirements and/or policies.9.
