The Department of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) has extended the temporary exception for parents to provide Attendant Care and/or Habilitation services to their minor children. The purpose of the exception was initially to reduce exposure to Covid-19 for our vulnerable members while still maintaining their services. The extension is intended to maintain supports while we develop a well-trained and knowledgable Direct Support Provider workforce. We value our members and families and want to ensure their health and safety. Wee Care has staff ready to assist you with joining Wee Care so you may temporarily support your child's needs: To qualify for the temporary parent exception you: Must be at least 18 years old Must Complete the following training: Article 9 (Virtual/Online) CPR/First Aid (Virtual/Online/In-Person) Direct Care Worker Training Habilitation Training (Online) Must possess or be able to obtain a Level 1 Fingerprint Clearance Card We look forward to working with you and your family in supporting your child's Habilitation and Attendant Care needs.
