Theatrical Master Electrician

This position is temporary, covering for a leave of absence. Contract dates are starting ASAP through July 31 with the possibility of an extension. Housing is available. Who you are: • Professional supervisor with experience in lighting equipment and technology for the theatrical entertainment industry. • Detail-oriented & strong work ethic with a proven track record of implementing lighting designs for high-level productions. • Previous responsibility overseeing crews with an emphasis on safety and clear communication. • Positive attitude and ability to serve as the liaison between the lighting supervisor and design team. • Be willing to work outdoors, at heights, and in a Utah desert climate. Duties and Responsibilities: • Execute lighting department tasks/projects assigned by the department supervisor and oversee the lighting crew in order to complete those assignments in Tuacahn's outdoor amphitheater space. • On-site, daily supervision of crews to ensure adherence to IATSE contract agreements; including but not limited to breaks/meal times as well as safety protocols. • Responsible for upholding the integrity of the lighting design for all amphitheater shows throughout the production run. • Facilitate the organization of daily to-do lists, assigning crew members to tasks; ultimately keeping the crew operating efficiently. • Supervise productions adhering to a nightly schedule when necessary. • Working with the lighting supervisor to improve processes and facilities, help determine staffing needs, and planning large-scale projects. Required Skills/Knowledge: • Minimum of 5 years working in a professional theatre environment or equivalent venue in a supervisory capacity within the lighting department. • Experience with various moving/intelligent lights, ETC family of consoles, networking protocol and configuration, power distribution systems, practical wiring, and associated theatrical lighting systems. • Competency in theatrical rigging. • Experience in the operation of aerial lifts such as genie lifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts. Certification preferred. • Proficiency in Lightwright 6, Vectorworks, ETC Nomad, and ETC Concert. • Ability to troubleshoot issues in a timely manner while maintaining a professional demeanor. • Prioritizing the needs of the production while never compromising the safety/well-being of the crew.
