Description:
The Director of Ancillary Services has re s pon si bility for operational activities and leadership for ancillary services. These re s ponsibilitie s include planning, organizing , developing , directing , coord i nating , and evaluating the activities and re s ources (human, material, and capital) necessary for quality resident care, efficient operations, and regulatory compliance. ln collaboration with the Senior Leadership team aids with the overall management of re s ident activities, Case Management, Dietary, and the Clinic Nur s ing Team . RESPONSIBILITIES Annually review s and updates Ancillary Service-related policie s and pro ce dure s, en s uring they conform to current standards of practice maintaining compliance with state, federal, and local laws and regulations Communicates , interprets, and trains the company 's policies and procedures to Ancillary Serv ice staff and monitors staff practice s and implementation Set and monitor the achievement of goal s and objective s for the Ancillary Service departments con s i s tent with established philosophy and standards of practice Evaluates the work performance of all Ancillary Service staff, assists in the determination of wage increases , and implement s d is cipline according to policy Participates in the recruitment and selection of department personnel and ensures enough staff are hired Oversees ancillary staff schedu le s to ensure they meet operational needs , regulatory , and budgetary standards Communicates directly with re s idents, families, medical staff, nursing staff, and department heads to coordinate care and se rvice s, promote participation in individual Program Plans (IPP) , individual Education Plans (IEP), and Active Treatment , and maintain a high quality of care and life fo r residents Prepare and assure adherence to annual operating budgets for the Ancillary Service departments . Take s responsibility for budgeting and re s ource planning Prepare s periodic report s regarding the Ancillary Service departments' operational effectiveness and performance . Reports will include budget management , resident in s urance coverage, resident active treatment progress, and department resource needs Coordinate s and/or develops ongoing quality as s urance activities for Ancillary Services to monitor compliance with standards and regulatory requirements through rounds , Holds, at minimum , weekly meetings with direct staff to discuss resident information , census changes, personnel, or complaints/concerns Participates in the preparation of the Plan of Correction response to an inspection survey and implements any follow-up QA required for any ancillary service-related allegations Builds alliances and partnerships with outside organizations, government agencies, and guardians/family members Reviews all resident's Active Treatment progression , IEPs , and IPP 's for appropriateness and completeness Heads the Human Rights Committee and serves on other committees as assigned Review all submitted ancillary care-related complaints, incident reports, and follow-up reports; provide information to the Administrator Perform other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Administration degree or equivalent experience Minimum of (5) five years of healthcare management experience Basic Life Support certification (American Heart) WORKING CONDITIONS Usually works in a well-lighted, well-ventilated area Limited travel to other facilities in personal vehicle may be required
