The senior engineer will be responsible for providing technical leadership for projects. These projects routinely include the following disciplines: Seakeeping studies. Hydrodynamic loads on offshore structures. Mooring system design and analysis. Hydro-elastic analysis, resistance, and propulsion. Propeller design and performance analysis. Applications include ship design, marine construction equipment, oil and gas platforms, research platforms, civil structures, offshore floating wind turbines, and wave energy conversion devices. Education and Certification: Bachelor's degree in Naval Architecture, Ocean Engineering or other relevant discipline (Master's Degree preferred). Licensed Professional Engineer (preferred). Must be authorized to work in the United States. Due to project restrictions, Glosten will only consider applicants with unrestricted access to work in the United States or those eligible for TN visas. Qualifications: 15+ years of work experience as a naval architect/ocean engineer in the discipline of hydrodynamics in ship design or offshore platform applications. Demonstrated ability to apply fundamental engineering principals to problem solving, development of analytical approaches, and development of novel design concepts. Experience in model testing of vessels, propulsion systems, or offshore structures. Familiarity and general knowledge of vessel systems, computational methods, and design processes. Working knowledge of marine standards and regulatory requirements (USCG, ABS, DNV, API). Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, both in person and remotely. Excellent written, oral, and graphical communication skills. Excellent time management, cost management, planning, organizational, and multi-tasking skills. Some project assignments will require a valid driver's license, current passport, and/or TWIC card for required project travel and fieldwork. The following qualifications are also desirable: Shipboard, shipyard, or manufacturing experience. Experience with and a desire to build client relationships. Ability to effectively manage projects and teams, meeting scope, schedule, and budget.
