Security Engineer What you'll do: Do you have a passion for raising the bar on security? If so, we want to talk to you! We are looking for a talented Mid-Level Security Engineer to join our team. As a Security Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining our company's security posture, protecting our SaaS application hosted on AWS, and ensuring the integrity, confidentiality, and availability of our internal network. You will work closely with our development, operations, and IT teams to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities, design and implement security solutions, and respond to security incidents.Location- It is preferred this position be located near our Herndon, VA office to occasionally meet in the office with the team. Remote candidates will be considered if located on the East Coast. What you'll bring: Design, implement, and maintain security controls to protect our SaaS application hosted on AWS Monitor and analyze security events and incidents to identify potential security threats and vulnerabilities Implement and maintain systems to follow security policies, procedures, and guidelines Conduct security assessments, vulnerability assessments and remediate issues Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations (e.g., FedRAMP, SOC2, GDPR) Participate in incident response activities and lead security incident investigations Work closely with our development, operations, and IT teams to ensure security is integrated throughout our processes and technologies Stay up-to-date with the latest security trends, threats, and technologies Required: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field Minimum of 3 years of experience in a security engineering role Experience working with AWS, Cisco networking, Azure, and a mixture of Microsoft and Linux technologies Knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, IDS/IPS, SIEM, DLP, and encryption Experience with security assessments, penetration testing, and vulnerability assessments Understanding of security frameworks and standards such as NIST, ISO, and CIS Ability to communicate complex security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills Security certifications such as CISSP are a plus A little about us: Casual and flexible environment to encourage creativity and collaboration Flexible hours and 4 weeks of PTO to enjoy life!
