Summary The IT Support role will be responsible for providing technical support and assistance to the organization under the direction of the Network Administrator. Primarily responsible for interacting with internal employees by phone, in-person, through chat or the support ticketing system to resolve computer problems related to software and hardware issues and to help them get back up running smoothly again. Essential Duties Serve as the first point of contact for customers seeking technical assistance over the phone or email or tickets Perform remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions Determine the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers Walk the customer through the problem-solving process Direct unresolved issues to the next level of support personnel Provide accurate information on IT products or services Answers questions of a general nature; provides step-by-step technical instruction and support; troubleshoots and resolves problems; logs issues into the Bank's Information Technology case system to ensure events are properly reported and resolved within the established quality and service level guidelines. Follow-up and update customer status and information Pass on any feedback or suggestions by customers to the appropriate internal team Assist with setup, configuration, and installation of devices, equipment, software, printers and other peripherals. Assists with routine system or user administrative tasks, such as system specification changes or the addition, change, or deletion of employees on the Bank's various systems and networks; ensures necessary documentation is attained and properly authorized for such requests; and originates and maintains system and user files. Assist in installing, troubleshooting, and supporting core network infrastructure, including switches and routers, patch panels and network cabling Maintain accurate inventory of computer assets throughout the product lifecycle, including procurement, shipping, deployment, decommissioning, and disposal Provide training and technical assistance to users Maintains basic knowledge and awareness of financial industry technical status and trends Documents tickets with applied solution. Secondary Duties The position of IT Support performs duties specific to the position and other functions as assigned. Physical Demands While performing the duties of the job, the employee is required to work indoors in an office setting. Must be capable of occasionally climbing ladders and of traversing obstacles. Regularly required to type or file. Lift up to 50 pounds. Frequently required to stand, talk, hear, walk, and sit. Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. Specific vision abilities required by this job include, close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Minimum Requirements These specifications are general guidelines based on the minimum experience normally considered essential to the satisfactory performance of this position. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required to perform the position in a satisfactory manner. Individual abilities may result in some deviation from these guidelines. Two-year college degree or equivalent experience in an IT/computer related field plus one year of on the job work experience. Experience in computer maintenance, diagnostics, troubleshooting, documentation, and problem resolution. Knowledge of computer imaging, software installation and support, and implementing standard desktop and laptop solutions Proficient in printer installation, configuration, component functions, driver installation, maintenance, and repairs Thorough understanding of LAN/WAN network hardware, implementation, and support Knowledge of virtual server environments, network folder access, and drive mapping Excellent interpersonal skills Outstanding customer service Ability to provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware Handle support tickets in a timely manner Intermediate typing skills Basic knowledge of general office practices. Effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to apply common sense to carry out instructions, interpret documents, understand procedures, write reports and correspondence, and speak clearly to customers and employees. Ability to deal with difficult problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations. Effective organizational and time management skills. Ability to work with little to no supervision while performing duties. Current driver's license and a vehicle with appropriate insurance coverage if required to drive in the course of performing assigned duties and responsibilities.
