Position Summary The Machinist II ensures product and process quality is maintained through visual inspection, measuring instruments, and testing machinery. Takes initiative to troubleshoot and problem solve, works collaboratively with the Production Team to discuss process improvements, brings forward product concerns, makes recommendations, performs preventative maintenance and calibrates equipment, tools, machinery. Schedule 3rd Shift Sunday through Thursday, 11:00 pm to 7:30 am. Primary Responsibilities (Essential Duties) • Independently identifies business needs. Proactively supports other areas to maximize overall product flow and efficiency. • Works on assignments that can be non-routine and moderately complex in nature, where judgment is required in resolving problems and making recommendations. (Refers more complex issues to higher levels.) • Thoroughly documents all product travelers ensuring proper quality documentation as applicable to a given process. • Enters data and performs computer transactions as appropriate. • Actively participates in Improvement Teams, shortening cycle times, and reducing manufacturing costs. • Assists in the orientation and training of other Employees. • Takes initiative to rotate to the work that needs to be done, inter and/or intra departmentally as appropriate. • Keeps work areas clean and organized, in accordance with 5s principles. • Knows and follows safety procedures as required in a specific operation. • Identifies safety concerns and takes appropriate action. • Willingly shares skills and knowledge. • Effectively gives and receives feedback. • Sets good example for others, is a good role model. • Cooperatively performs additional duties as assigned. • Maintains good safety, attendance, and performance records. • Able to read, interpret, and follow written, visual, drawings and verbal work instructions. • Demonstrates ability to perform setups and capable of machining parts on two or more machines. • Demonstrates ability to read, understand and edit programs. • Demonstrates ability to communicate clearly and work well with all members of a team. • Demonstrates ability to follow all company policies and procedures. Secondary Responsibilities: In addition to the accountabilities listed above, individuals may perform other duties as assigned, including work in other functional areas to cover absences or relief, to equalize peak work periods or otherwise to balance the workload.
