UHP is currently affiliated with 68 providers consisting of 49 physicians and 19 advanced practice providers operating out of 21 locations in the greater Los Angeles and San Diego areas. POSITION SUMMARY The Medical Phone Operator is responsible for answering calls to the clinic and scheduling gastroenterology (GI) office appointments. Communication with staff in all departments is paramount in this position, ensuring that proper care is provided to patients. This position provides patients with information so they can fully utilize and benefit from the clinical services. What you will be doing Answers patient calls to the clinic and schedules appointments applicable to the practice. Reviews the patient's medications and health history to determine pre-admission testing. Ensures that scheduling updates, cancellations, or additions are entered timely. Schedules GI office appointments. Maintaining Referral Box includes reviewing referrals, checking insurance and demographics, and calling patients to schedule. Reviews the anesthesia schedule two weeks out and reviews procedure schedule a couple of days out to ensure gaps are filled. Calls patients to arrange schedules appropriately.
