You must be patient, excel at customer service, and alert to guest needs. You will welcome patrons, seat them at tables or in lounge, and help ensure quality of facilities and service. upbeat Hostess to work variable shifts, including weekends. The Hostess loves making small talk with customers and is willing to learn guests' names in our establishment. He or she should be willing to fill in as needed for busboys, servers and bartenders to keep up with busy shifts. Some back-of-house assistance might be needed, such as with counting down tills and inspecting/cleaning restrooms. Hostess Responsibilities: Greet guests as soon as they walk through the door Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience. Maintain a neat, organized front-of-house environment Seat guests and take initial drink orders as needed to ensure ideal speed of service Assist with opening/closing tasks and side work as needed Learn food and beverage menu Rotate seating between different stations to ensure even workloads for waitstaff Answer phones and schedule reservations with large parties Runs the floor plan in communication with the Kitchen Chef to avoid long ticket timing Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables. Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available. Understands and applies company's cleaning and sanitation guidelines and policies Ensures that hostess desk is sanitized every 30 mins and menues are wiped after every use. Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant. Maintains restrooms throughout shift. Ensuring Exceptional Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service. Interact with guests to create memorable experince Respond effectively to guest problems and complaints. Understand the importance of guest satisfaction and focuse on continuous improvement. Hostess skills: Customer Focus. Communication Proficiency. Organizational Skills. Stress Management/Composure. Multi-task oriented. Flexible schedule, particularly for weekend/evening shifts 1+ years customer service experience, preferably in the hospitality industry Ability to work 6+ hours on your feet at a time Advanced time management experience Friendly, open disposition Team player who looks for ways to help out other employees whenever needed Willingness to work at least every other holiday Position Requirements include, but are not limited to: Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; remains attentive to the customers throughout the entire dining experience, adhering to or exceeding service standards as established by the restaurant at all times. Maintains a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times. Communicates with Executive Chef before seating guests who arrive later than their reservation time to make sure that kitchen can control their timing Provides professional, competent, and prompt service to guests. Has knowledge of Reservations systems (Open Table, Sevenrooms) Provides information about products and looks for opportunities to "up- sell" products. Present bottles of Champagne to VIP Tables Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager. Complete safety training and certifications. Completes all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed. Makes sure that menues are clean and presentable to guests at all times Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional, maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets. Personal Apperance: Must abide by the brand standards. Slip resistant black shoes. Must be clean- shaven at all times. All employees must maintain good personal hygiene. Fingernails must be cut and clean. Personal appearance must be suitable for work at all times. Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when using restroom, etc.) Personal Attributes: Be honest, trustworthy and respectful. Possess cultural awareness and sensitivity. Be flexible in regard to schedule. Demonstrate sound work ethics. Physical Demands: Requires mobility and prolonged standing. Lifting and carrying up to ten (10) pounds. Working at a height of four feet. Environmental Conditions: Use of chemicals and electrical equipment. Ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality. Sensory Demands: Normal sense of smell, touch, and sound. Normal vision range. Eye/hand coordination and manual dexterity. Ability to distinguish letters, symbols, or colors. Mental Demands: The incumbent must also deal with a wide variety of people on various issues. Knowledge is required to perform basic math, including calculations using fractions, percentages, and/or ratios.
