Summary Responsible for the laundering of assigned linen throughout the health system. Other duties include, but are not limited to sorting, repairing and making deliveries in accordance with established procedures. Must be able to demonstrate service excellence, teamwork, positive attitude, maintain a good record of attendance and punctuality.Job Duties The essential functions of this job are identified with an asterisk (*) at the end of the bullet point. Duties include, but are not limited to sorting, repairing and making deliveries in accordance with established procedures.* Use Quality Control check list as feedback to improve quality of work.* Records pounds of delivered linen to each area and documents pounds to form on line.* Keeps supplies on hand and puts in an order as needed through EVS manager.* Introduces self when entering patient room along with asking if there is anything further they can do before leaving the room.* Acknowledge and show good professional manners towards everyone who you come into contact during your day. * Contribute to create and maintain a supportive and enthusiastic environment. Keeps conversation work appropriate/area appropriate. Does not engage in gossiping, rumors, backstabbing and/or conversations that can be found offensive by others. Helps to create a team within department and organization. Actively participates in department meetings. Dependability, having no more than 5 episodes of absence per year. Have good record of punctuality. No observed or reported instances of verbal criticism of individual people, service areas or MLHS. Required Education and Experience Must have a completion of tenth grade, or by equivalent outside study; High School graduate or GED preferred. Must be 18 years of age due to equipment use. Must be able to sew and operate a sewing machine. If job requires use of company vehicle must be 21 years of age or older with a clean valid MN driver's license. Must know how to read and knowledge of basic math skills. Must participate in training and procedures for infection control. Excellent communication skills across disciplines and at various levels. Ability to work in a team setting. Willingness to cross-train. Must pass Background/Drug and Alcohol screening.
