Sampson Regional Medical Center is hiring a Billing Specialist I to join the join the Practice Management Billing team! Description: T he selected applicant will assist Practice Billing by providing consistent follow-up on unpaid claims utilizing reports, clearing house, and insurance explanation of benefits while filing appeals when necessary for reimbursement, data entry of patient demographics, insurance information, balance daily deposits, and accept insurance/patient payments. Requirements: High school graduate or higher. Prefer one year's experience with CPT and ICD-10 coding and prior billing experience. This position is expected to demonstrate considerable level of billing acumen. While there will be some education and development required to become familiar with the Administrative Office, Medical Staff, hospital rules and regulations, and department processes, this position is expected to have fundamental knowledge in billing. Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service skills with strong verbal communication. Hours: Eight (8) hour days Monday thru Friday. May work other hours for the effective operation of the department. Your Health, Our Passion!
