Adjunct Instructor - Psychology

Position Summary: In structor will teach courses in Psychology. Instructors are responsible for preparation and delivery of all course materials including the syllabus, lecture and other course delivery preparation, and keeping attendance records. Prerequisite Qualifications: A. Must possess a master's or Ph.D. degree with an emphasis in Psychology, Counseling, or Sports Psychology. B. At least 2 years of experience in teaching in a higher education setting. C. Experience with various instructional delivery systems including integration of technology into coursework. D. Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to work both independently and as part of a team E. Strong written and oral presentation skills F. Strong organizational skills G. Evidence of Christian commitment with interest in and ability to integrate faith and learning Duties, Tasks, Responsibilities: A. Supervision and instruction of students in classroom and/or lab settingsB. Development of written syllabi and required course materialsC. Evaluation of subject matter taught and maintenance of student recordsD. Preparation and grading of examsE. Maintaining office hours to advise and assist studentsF. Participation in departmental and university-wide meetingsG. Provide spiritual support and prayer to students and staff Working Conditions: A. Requires the ability to read, write, see, hear, and speak clearly.B. Requires the ability to stand, walk, bend, reach or sit for long periods of time.C. Requires working on a computer, PC, or laptop; ability to work these and office-relatedequipment.D. May be required to lift objects weighing up to 20 pounds.E. Moderate noise. Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics of management, public groups, and/or boards of directors. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret various instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret and extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables. Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Ability to deal with nonverbal symbolism (formulas, scientific equations, graphs, musical notes, etc.) in its most difficult phases. Ability to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.
