The Engineering department works to eliminate waste of time, money, materials, labor hours, machine time, energy and other resources that do not generate value. The Engineering Intern will work on projects of increasing responsibility with the chance of joining Nordic Ware as a full-time employee following the completion of the internship. Projects will include using SolidWorks to create drawings of parts manufactured by Nordic Ware. You will also work with the Quality Department to ensure drawings are accurate. What you will get to do: Use SolidWorks to create drawings of parts. Work closely with engineers and quality department for optimum results. Design processes, develop best practices and innovative solutions to improve production rates. Prepare and present recommendations for approval. Ensure the efficient and safe functioning of processes related to our manufacturing. Evaluate existing processes and suggest measures for improvement in safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Provide process documentation and initiate Standard Work Procedures with manufacturing staff. Ensure projects are completed on time and financial budgets are followed. Perform process simulations, risk assessment while managing cost and time constraints. Analyze the industry as a whole and recommend improvements in the field. Other duties and tasks as assigned or required. What you'll bring to the role: Currently enrolled or recent graduate of an associate, undergraduate, or graduate engineering program or related field. Possess a working knowledge of Solid Works and AutoCad. Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies, such as Lean, Six Sigma, and Theory of Constraints. Ability to prioritize tasks, handle numerous assignments, and approach tasks with attention to detail. Analytical thinker with strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written. Friendly and professional demeanor toward all contacts, whether internal or external. Flexibility to handle varying assignments and to accommodate shifting priorities.
