Are you seeking a career in Public Health? Summit County Public Health is looking for an HR Specialist . Under general supervision of the Human Resources Supervisor, the Human Resources Specialist will facilitate daily operations and activities of the Human Resource program including recruitment strategy, leave administration, policy interpretation, maintaining personnel files, employee development programming, new hire onboarding, orientation engagement initiatives and the performance management cycle. Job Duties: Assists with the administration of various human resource programs, including job postings, recruiting, onboarding new employees, the performance management cycle and other human resource related projects. Facilitates pre-employment screenings and verifications; ensures new hire paperwork is completed and processed. Facilitates onboarding of new employees; ensures new employees are in compliance with relevant SCPH Policies and Procedures and minimum employment standards. Facilitates quarterly new hire orientation for staff. Answers front-line employee benefit questions Prepares paperwork and recordkeeping for employees' FMLA leave and other SCPH leave policies. Prepare and maintain employee files, assuring accuracy, compliance and confidentiality. Maintains employee engagement programs and initiatives. Maintains, facilitates and develops curriculums for employee development trainings. Maintains, facilitates and develops curriculums for SCPH New Supervisor Training. Sources, maintains and organizes external employee trainers/facilitators Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or closely related field. Must possess a minimum of 1-2 years related work experience. Current valid Ohio driver's license, automobile availability and insurance coverage. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers. Ability to follow verbal and written instructions and work independently. Ability to solve practical problems and interpret regulations. Ability to communicate effectively and accurately both verbally and in writing.
