General Job Statement: The Housing Stability Case Manager is responsible for coordinating, facilitating and supporting individuals and families to stabilize, maintain and improve their current housing . The Housing Stability Case Manager will bring awareness of current NorthPoint programs, services and resources that will increase self-sufficiency and improve the lives of individuals and families who reside in North Minneapolis and surrounding suburbs. Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in psychology, Sociology or closely related field, or Associated Degree with two (2) years of case management experience in a non-profit setting with homeless or marginalized communities, or a High School Diploma or GED with four (4) years' experience in case management in a non-profit setting with homeless or marginalized communities. Minimum of two (2) years' experience in housing related position and demonstrated competency with federal, state and local housing subsidies and work with homeless and/or low-income individuals and/or families. Must have knowledge of community, housing, educational and economic resources and human services in North Minneapolis. Experience with developing and delivering culturally responsive services. Experience n egotiating lease terms, fees and deposits with potential landlords. Experience facilitating group educational and/or training sessions. Excellent oral, written and group communication skills. Must be proficient in MS Word, MS Excel, and computer client tracking databases. Valid driver's license, proof of current insurance, a reliable vehicle and with no more than 3 moving violations in the last five years. Must pass a comprehensive background check. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Must be able to interact effectively with people of various ages, ethnic, cultural backgrounds and economic status. Demonstrated ability to perform case management functions. Demonstrated competency with program planning, implementation and coordination, including training, facilitation, public speaking, community engagement and partner collaboration. Must have knowledge of housing subsidies and supportive housing programs. Anticipate and respond to the needs of internal and external customers in a timely manner. Excellent organizational skills with a high degree of detail orientation, comfortable taking initiative, and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting timelines. Strong oral and written communication skills as well as demonstrated ability to utilize tact, diplomacy, professionalism, and empathy in interactions with internal and external customers. Ability to work effectively in a team environment, developing and maintaining consistently effective working relationships internally and with external resources. Excellent judgment in highly confidential situations. Ability to deal effectively with highly sensitive and/or confidential information and situations.
