A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A RENEWABLE ENERGY - SOLAR TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTOR As a Renewable Energy - Solar Technician Instructor with our nonprofit, you guide your students through the exciting world of photovoltaic systems, design, operations, construction, safety, and best practices. You're the mastermind behind all the hands-on, lab-oriented solar technology, engineering, and construction-related activities that make learning about renewable energy a blast. But, you're not just a fun-loving teacher. You're also a pro at making sure our trainees are exposed to industry standards and that they develop a strong foundation in integral subject knowledge. Because let's face it, they need that for their career development. And let's not forget your secret weapon – your positive rapport with everyone around you. Trainees, staff, partners, and stakeholders all love working with you because you make learning enjoyable. Your lesson plans are rigorous and always driven by technical and performance assessments, making sure our trainees are getting the best education possible. You even go above and beyond by implementing and analyzing computer-based tutorial lessons on the web or digital learning platforms associated with the industry standards and curriculum. You're like a superhero, fighting for renewable energy education for all! At the end of the day, your ultimate goal is to equip our trainees with the skills and education they need to succeed in the renewable energy industry. WHAT WE NEED IN A RENEWABLE ENERGY - SOLAR TECHNICIAN INSTRUCTOR High school diploma or equivalent Current Class D Massachusetts driver's license 1+ years of experience as a Journeyman or Technician level in the solar industry Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite or related software Covid-19 vaccination Three years of experience as a certified teacher in a vocational-technical construction or maintenance-related training program is preferred. OSHA-certified trainer and PV Installation Professional certification are also preferred but not required. If you have experience working in or the ability to demonstrate a commitment to nonprofit work targeting economically disadvantaged populations, you would be a great fit!
