C2BMC Advanced Engineer Location: Huntsville, AL DESCRIPTION: Canvas, Inc. is seeking a C2BMC Advanced Engineer! In this role you will support The Command, Control, Communications, and Battle Management (C3BM) engineering efforts include engaging in Command, Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) technical engineering and integration of Space assets into the missile defense system. Responsibilities may include: Orchestrate research and development (R&D) activities for the Missile Defense Agency's (MDA) space exploitation prototyping lab(s) and lead multiple simultaneous R&D prototyping efforts through live test and evaluation demonstrations Assist transition agent activities to guide integration of revolutionary prototype capabilities into the operational program of record Evaluate and promote advancement of promising leading-edge technology to address the ever-increasing demands imposed by a complex and evolving threat space Coordinate prototyping and testing of these technologies within the Enterprise Sensors Laboratory (ESL), the Enterprise Sensor Processing Node (ESPN), and the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS) Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) Architecture (BOA) Provide systems engineering support to the MDA/BC Advanced project office (MDA/BCDV) Engage in identifying MDA Space data needs for missile warning, tracking and defensive operations, to include direct contributions to the fire control loop Assist with capability gap identification against emerging threats, conceptualize, and propose to MDA BCDV chief engineer's possible solution space Prepare analysis, schedules, reports, and briefings that address integrating advanced capabilities or new space or terrestrial assets into the missile defense system and implementation of C3BM candidate technologies Assist with MDA/BCD efforts to coordinate the requirements process, report on the utility and feasibility of requirements changes, and assess proposed requirements for technical and programmatic feasibility Assess, identify, and assist in planning of acquisition, tracking, and typing and classification algorithm performance characterization and maturity, including incorporating enhanced capabilities into the development process Monitor, evaluate, and prepare status updates on contractor(s) plans to conduct real-world live data soak evaluations and where needed simulated verification testing Participate in BCD capability engineering reviews, milestone decision processes and baseline reviews of technology development programs REQUIREMENTS : Must have and be able to maintain a Secret clearance (Top Secret desired) 12+ years working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project Candidate may qualify for position by meeting any of the following educational requirements: Masters in STEM field Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen and show proof of citizenship. Candidate will be subject to random drug testing throughout the lifetime of employment.
