Description:
PURPOSE OF POSITION The plant operator's primary function is to efficiently operate our edible bean processing facility and assist with all other essential functions related to plant operations. Core functions include operating the facility and quality control. RESPONSIBILITIES Operate the Facility Perform and complete daily production runs. Ensuring the most efficient and cost-effective processes are being followed.o Operate processing equipment and other facility assets.o Maintain accurate inventory and knowledge of per shift production goalso Monitor equipment, document problems and repairo Process, package and ship product. Including bagging 50 to 100 pound bags, toting, loading and unloading trucks.o Label and monitor products according to quality control standardso Sample retention and documentation Maintain the appearance of the facility - both inside and out Responsible for all sanitation functions related to quality control. Sweeping, mopping, shoveling, dusting, and vacuuming Maintain sanitation logs, checklists and associated documentation Keep clean and wash all company owned vehicles All other duties as assigned Quality Assurance Promote a clean environment and ensure compliance with housekeeping policies and procedures. Ensure all products are stored and kept in conditions necessary to maintain quality. Verify that all products produced meet Pulses America's high-quality standards - with the ability to quickly recognize any deviations. TRAVEL Travel will be required, periodically, to our other area facilities to provide support when necessary. A company vehicle will be provided to commute between each location, or you will be compensated at the current IRS rate for use of your personal vehicle. QUALIFICATIONS Mechanical aptitude Experience in processing grains or specialty crops Knowledge of conveyors, color sorters, grain cleaners, bucket elevators, packaging equipment, robotics and basic automation Basic understanding of quality control standards in a food grade processing facility. Ability to:o Establish and maintain positive working relationshipso Prioritize tasks and work unsupervisedo Lift a minimum of 50 pounds - continuously at timeso Stand for extended periods of timeo Work extended hours, when necessary (seasonal)o Work as a part of a teamo Work in dust, confined spaces, significant heights, and extreme temperatures Job Posted by ApplicantPro
