ShelterCare's Finance Department in Eugene, OR is seeking to hire a full-time Senior Accountant - Properties . The Senior Accountant is responsible for supporting the day-to-day operations of the Finance Department at ShelterCare. This position will be fully responsible for the accounting, reporting and audit support for ShelterCare's three managed HUD properties, along with other accounting duties as assigned. This position is part of the team that delivers fiduciary activities that meet the mission, vision and values of the agency. ShelterCare is considered a healthcare organization. Following state rule 333-019-XXXX, covered healthcare providers and healthcare staff must provide their employer: Proof of vaccination showing they are fully vaccinated; or documentation of a medical or religious exemption. COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS The Senior Accountant earns a competitive wage of $26.92 - $31.49/hr depending on experience. This is a non-exempt, hourly position. ShelterCare qualifies for the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program. *PTO accrual is prorated for employees working less than 40 hours a week. A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A SENIOR ACCOUNTANT - PROPERTIES As a Senior Accountant, you will m aintain separate accounting for D.H. Inc, Afiya, Inc, and River Kourt Apartments. Prepare journal entries as assigned; participate in the month-end close for all assigned tasks. Prepare monthly financials for each property, researching actual to budget variances when required. Research general ledger transactions as directed by the Controller. Provide monthly balance sheet reconciliations as assigned. Take the lead on and develop annual budgets for the properties to assist property management with the PRAC submittals. Take the lead on and prepare schedules and provide assistance to auditors during the annual audits for each property. Ensure compliance with all internal processes. QUALIFICATIONS A degree in accounting or the equivalence in years of experience is preferred. Strong senior level accounting required, i.e. strong analytical, problem-solving and data analysis skills. Experience using Microsoft Excel in an accounting position is required. Experience with Sage 300 is preferred.
