EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Job Title Memorial Hall Maintenance Department Parks and Recreation Department Posting Date April 7, 2023 Closing Date for Resumes/Applications Open Until Filled Salary Range $15.00 - 16.25 (Hourly) Exempt/Non-exempt Non-Exempt Status and Work Schedule Part-time (not to exceed 1,499 hours per year) The Saint Charles Parks and Recreation Department has an opportunity for a part-time Memorial Hall Maintenance Worker to perform building janitorial, event set-up and break down and minor maintenance and repair tasks under the direction of the Concessions Coordinator. Essential Duties and Responsibilities The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned. This position performs a variety of basic or semi-skilled tasks related to facility maintenance including, but not limited to: Custodial - rental facility floor sweeping, dusting, vacuuming, refuse/litter collection and disposal, restroom cleaning/stocking, and surface cleaning Set up and breakdown of scheduled events within the facility Keep inventory and order supplies needed for scheduled events of the facility including beverages, linens and cleaning supplies Coordinate and direct event bartenders and bartend as needed Inspects and monitors rental facility for safety. Reports damages or unsafe situations. Perform emergency repairs and/or secure areas as needed Assists during special events and emergency situations Assist Concession Coordinator with Concession Stand set up and operations as needed Operates a variety of cleaning and maintenance equipment such as floor machines and power tools Assists Park visitors interested in renting the facility if needed Ability to work some early mornings, nights, and weekends Minimum Training and Experience Required to Perform Essential Job Functions High school diploma or equivalent One to two years custodial and event experience, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills and abilities, is preferred A valid driver's license is required This position has the opportunity to drive the Department's 40 passenger bus for day trips. CDL with passenger endorsement or ability to obtain within 6 months required.
