Description:
The Service Plumber position performs service on residential and commercial plumbing systems. Service plumbing may include, but not limited to installing, maintaining, and repairing pipes, replacing tanks and water fixtures, unclogging toilets and drains, as well as diagnosing leaks and other problems. This position includes mandatory work on weekends. Pay Range: $18 - $32 per hour Duties and Responsibilities Interpret the blueprints and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials in residential buildings. Install pipes and fixtures in residential buildings, these must be in accordance with all guidelines. Install supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation Assemble fittings and valves for installation and modifies the lengths of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials. Collaborate with other construction workers, such as contractors, construction workers, electricians, pipefitters, and steamfitters in installing and repairing plumbing Choose the correct plumbing materials based on the client's budget. Perform tests, analysis, and inspections of plumbing systems to identify problems and replacing worn parts. Maintain good working order of Company vehicle. Includes: refueling and servicing as necessary, reporting mechanical issues, washing, and cleaning the Company vehicle on a regular basis. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Work Days Normal work schedule is Monday through Friday but must have the flexibility to work weekends, holidays and afterhours, when required. Available to work on-call rotation. Willing to work overtime, when the situation arises. Qualifications/ Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Must be willing to work, roll up sleeves and get dirty at times. Team player - willing to jump in and help others as needed Excellent communication and people skills Be knowledgeable or have the willingness to learn to operate an iPad. Experience in residential plumbing systems Thorough knowledge of safety procedures and legal regulations and guidelines Excellent critical thinking and problem-solving ability Physical Requirements Must be able to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, grasp, twist, and bend for extended periods of time. Lift and carry material weighing up to 75 lbs.; occasionally lifting items weighing more than 100 lbs. with assistance. Ability to climb and utilize a ladder safely. Dexterity to place pipes down with precision and accuracy. Good physical fitness: hand-eye coordination and ability to quickly respond to sounds. Must be able to work indoors and outdoors, including outdoors in time of excessive heat and inclement weather. Workdays Normal work schedule is Thursday through Monday with a start time of 7:30 AM each day. Must have flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and after hours when required. Available to work on-call rotation. Willing to work overtime when the situation arises.
