JFCAC is part of a nationwide network of Community Action Agencies committed to the war on poverty through innovative programs adapted to address our communities' specific needs. JFCAC offers a wide variety of programs designed to empower families and improve the quality of life for those living in the crisis of poverty. We are looking for a Nutritionist/Dietitian who has expertise working with pediatric and adult patients to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with women, infants, and children, as well as the community as a whole. They should possess a background in dietetics and nutrition. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing and building dietetic services within the community setting including WIC programs and must be able to build positive relationships with patients, families and other staff. Responsibilities: Design and implement nutrition and breastfeeding services. Understand the latest advances in nutrition. Provide participant centered nutrition education and counseling for high-risk participants, and complete care plans accordingly. Makes appropriate recommendations for Women, Infants, and Children nutritionally. Engage in community outreach to promote healthy eating habits and programs. Teach other staff to assure adequate services are available. Position Qualifications: Bachelors Degree from an accredited four-year college or university in public health nutrition, dietetics, nutrition, food science, home economics, or closely related field that includes 15 hours in foods and nutrition, including one or more courses in diet therapy and community nutrition; or completion of an undergraduate curriculum approved by the American Dietetic Association is required. Must successfully complete the State required WIC trainings within time designated by State WIC offices.
