Make a difference in the lives of children and you ng adults you serve. This position is critical to provide day-to-day educational services to students. As an SDI Teacher at Cedarcrest, you will provide educational leadership within the Cedarcrest School classrooms as a back-up for the absence of a regular teacher; deliver specially designed instruction (SDI) to twenty students, as outlined in each student's IEP; and perform administrative support duties to the Head of School and department. IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR : Head of School QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in teaching required, Bachelor's degree in Special Education or Master's degree preferred. Licensed in Education by the NH Department of Education, Special Education and/or Intellectual Disability Certification preferred. Must be willing to get licensed in Special Education by the NH Department of Education. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: Deliver Specially Designed Instruction (SDI) to 20 students, as outlined in individual IEPs Collaborates with classroom teachers, related services, and Head of School to implement SDI services to each student in a one-on-one or small group setting Integrates all appropriate components of student's programming into SDI sessions Collaborates with each student's team to assist in developing appropriate IEP content, including goals and recommended SDI services Participates in annual IEP meetings, providing information to assist in establishing/modifying programs to provide an appropriate educational and habilitative program for each student Employs a variety of instructional strategies and technologies during SDI sessions to meet the needs and capabilities of each student Assists the classroom teacher in training classroom staff to carry over SDI instruction into the daily classroom routine Maintains documentation for data collection and SDI services Assists with assessments of student achievements, both formally and informally, and to include DLM Participates in the planning and implementation of transitions of students into and from the classroom as well as to and from the facility Remains current on the student's educational and medical status Substitute Teaching Works as teacher in each of the classrooms when the assigned teacher is absent Manages the classroom effectively to follow typical routines and maintain a positive learning environment Follows lesson plans provided by the classroom teacher and oversee the implementation of student's individual programs to allow for consistent learning experiences for students Assures classroom staff complete IEP goal documentation, one-to-one billing, communication book, and electronic charting as required Takes attendance and additional appropriate paperwork in accordance to school procedures Assures compliance of classroom staff with the lifting protocols Feeds and changes students when staffing or program necessitates following established protocols Administrative Support Provides administrative support for education and therapy departments Develops and updates children's meetings and school calendars in consultation with Program Managers Sends out meeting notices to families, school districts, and other appropriate agencies Makes meeting reminder calls to families Compiles and mails Total plan of Care and quarterly meeting packets Follows up as necessary regarding reports not previously available for packet mailing; obtains and sends out these reports as necessary to complete packets Types, mails, and distributes reports, correspondence, evaluations, and progress reports in a timely manner Assists in compiling and maintaining student attendance and billing information Develops forms, report templates, and administrative systems as requested Maintains Educational records in accordance to educational procedures Maintains a positive and safe environment Models and encourages appropriate social exchanges with others, including students, staff, visitors, and families Works in a professional manner with all other disciplines and follows recommendations and protocols as established by the Head of School, nursing, and therapies Employs highest level of ethical standards in adhering to all laws, regulations, policies and procedures applicable to the education profession Adheres to appropriate verbal, physical, emotional, and social boundaries Works in a manner to prevent and/or minimize unsafe conditions and hazards Reports all concerns and questions to the appropriate supervisor or staff and assists in the resolution of concerns within the department
