U.S. NEWS & WORLD REPORT NAMES THREE PILLARS SENIOR LIVING COMMUNITIES ONE OF SEVEN 2022-23 BEST CONTINUING CARE RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES IN AMERICA The Volunteer Manager plays a vital role in managing the daily operations of the Volunteer Program for a variety of activities and services that enhance and improve our residents' quality of life. Critical to this role is the ability to build strong internal and external partnerships at Three Pillars to recruit, screen, onboard, place and retain a diverse and energized group of dedicated volunteers. Working with members of Three Pillars leadership team and staff across the organization to properly staff the activities, the Volunteer Manager will seek to expand the number of volunteer opportunities that are vital to enhancing operations, programs and services aligned with our mission and goals. What will I do in the Volunteer Manager role? Create and maintain a robust recruitment and retention program to ensure volunteers of high caliber and a great cultural fit become aware of our volunteer opportunities and feel drawn to our community to share their time for an ongoing commitment. Implement the volunteer intake process, including communication with volunteer, processing application, match volunteers to appropriate teams, facilitate orientation and track onboarding. Oversee collection and tracking of volunteer data and documents. Track and report volunteer attendance and hours. Report on volunteer data and statistics. Collect, analyze and report demographic and volunteer satisfaction data via annual survey. Work with department leaders to identify and define volunteer opportunities that will enhance operations, programs and services throughout the organization. Ensure volunteer assignments provide meaningful, satisfying work in a community reflective of the core values of the organization. Establish processes for all departments to follow in hosting/managing volunteers (including scheduling, reporting, support during their volunteer hours, etc.) to create a consistent, welcoming, supportive experience. Ensure volunteers work in a safe, healthy, and supportive environment. Ensure optimal volunteer utilization and coverage for activities, transportation, religious services, wellness, and campus events. Plan and implement various volunteer recognition events for all volunteers. Work with Resident Council volunteer chairperson to help recruit council representatives. Assist with conflict resolution involving volunteers according to established procedures and organizational core values. Facilitate volunteer exit or dismissal process. Assist in creating the annual budget for the volunteer program activities; administer and monitor expenditures for volunteer programs against the approved budget. Identify meaningful volunteer stories; collaborate with marketing team for collateral. Maintain excellent consistent communication with volunteers about performance and opportunities, including celebrating successes and offering constructive feedback as needed. Set an exemplary model for staff through professional appearance, treatment of employees, and dedication to company goals. What is required in this position? Bachelor's Degree preferred. Valid driver's license and good driving record. Minimum of 2 years of experience working in volunteer management, special events or related work experience in a non-profit or charitable organization, preferably for a senior living setting, is desired. Experience with management of database/CRM systems. Strong time-management skills are highly desired, as are demonstrated research and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate strong organizational and analytic skills and able to prioritize workload. Excellent inter-personal, verbal and written communication skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, notably Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams. Ability to walk, sit, stand and bend frequently. Ability to lift objects weighing up to 30 pounds occasionally. Ability to drive a motor vehicle and assist individuals getting in and out of a vehicle, as well as their wheelchairs, walkers, and other possessions.
