Carestl Health is seeking a Medical Assistant II ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The following information is considered the definition of essential functions but does not restrict the tasks that may be assigned. The Medical Assistant II may be reassigned duties and responsibilities at any time due to reasonable accommodation or other staffing reasons. Prepare patient for examination and assist provider with exam and procedure as needed and conduct patient intake and discharge according to policy and procedure. To ensure the best health outcome for our patients and their families Collect all forms accompanying patient and verify patient demographics and prep chart accurately take age appropriate vital signs Obtain and process specimens for transport to the lab Assist provider with complex dressing changes and perform simple wound care and dressing changes and administer injections and nebulizer treatments as ordered and administer peak flow meter test for respiratory assessment Clean and decontaminate re-usable equipment for autoclave sterilization and set up the exam rooms JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Graduate of an accredited school of Medical Assistant Current CPR Certification Experience: 1-2 yrs of experience working in a Community Health Center/or Physician Office setting, preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Knowledge of information and techniques in providing excellent patient care Knowledge of administrative and office procedures and systems such as electronic transmission via facsimile and/or internet Good computer skills including the use of office procedures and terminology Good self motivational and organizational skills Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work all health center sites Understanding of the complexities of integrating services Knowledge of data management through use of IT Additional Information: Clinic hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. 11 paid holidays per year.
