Sheakley Workforce Management Services is seeking an environmental manager for our client's open position in Manhattan, KS. Our client is looking for temporary help so this position would be 1099 and last 1 year. Our client's Main focus is hazardous waste pickups at their facility. You will mostly oversee hazardous waste picks ups at our client's facilities, water determination, and waste shipments. $45/Hr MUST have Knowledge of RCRA( The Resource Conservation and Recovery Act) Environment Supports site waste management, waste reduction, and recycling initiatives. Manages hazardous waste disposal records, storage, and compliance activities. Maintains compliance calendar and periodic reporting to meet environmental permit requirements. Assists in the development, delivery, assessment, and improvement of environmental training. Participates in the implementation of the Environmental Management System and ISO 14001 conformance. Health & Safety Supports site health and safety programs by providing technical expertise, including machine guarding, hazardous energy control (LOTO), lifting, fire and emergency response, ergonomics, personal protective equipment, etc. Provides guidance on a broad range of health and safety issues and technical support on regulatory requirements, permitting, recordkeeping, reporting, etc. Assists managers/supervisors with identifying and controlling health and safety risks; researches and recommends risk-control solutions. Assists with the incident investigation process and corrective action tracking. Participates in risk assessment and continuous improvement projects with health and safety focus. Serves as a member of local site safety committee; provide support with technical resources, expertise and administration. Compiles leading and lagging indicator metrics for monthly reporting; monitors metric trending and recommends strategic actions. Assists in the development, delivery, assessment and improvement of health and safety training. Participates in the implementation of the Occupational Safety and Health Management System and ISO 45001 conformance. Skills, Specialized Knowledge and Abilities Ability to handle sensitive information and maintain a high level of confidentiality Outgoing personality, self-motivated Excellent customer service, telephonic, electronic, and written communication skills. Analyze and recommend improvements for safe work practices, policies and training programs. Technical experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office products such as Outlook, Word, and Excel. Use of standard office equipment. Organization, attention to detail, flexibility and strong ability to multi-task interfacing multiple client situations on any given workday. Ability to work in a fast paced environment without direct supervision. Must embrace a team based, initiative driven environment. Effectively work with others to build consensus and rapport Work conditions are typically warehouse, clinical, manufacturing facilities, construction projects, and field conditions.
