As individuals we are great, and together we are even better so come help us make a difference as we are currently seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Staff Professional to join or team in our new office space within Ayrsley Town Center ( www.ayrsley.com ) in Charlotte, North Carolina. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professional Engineers and will support a wide range of civil, geotechnical and environmental design projects for Energy, Industrial and Government clients including reservoirs, dams, pipelines, transmission, landfills, mining, stormwater management, erosion control, and stream stabilization projects. Job Snapshot: Work with a full design team on a wide range of design projects under the direction of a Project Manager Assist with the development of conceptual design, engineering analysis of design alternatives, development of engineering calculations, drawing / detail preparations, construction cost estimating, specification preparation, construction site inspections, and report preparation Assist with the preparation of grading plans, stormwater design, and utility systems design Perform permitting assistance and coordination efforts Required Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering Eligible for the Professional Engineer's (P.E.) exam within 4-5 years 0-3 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design projects Occasional travel and the ability to work outside normal business hours Preferred Qualifications: Progressive experience in civil engineering design projects (including site/land development, and utilities) Previous exposure to AutoCAD and Civil3D Previous exposure to stormwater and utility modeling programs Why work at S&ME?
