JOB SUMMARY: Maintains and repairs steam boilers and boiler house auxiliaries and maintains other designated equipmen. Works Maintenance team to maintain facility in good repair by performing routine and scheduled maintenance duties. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Boiler / HVAC Operations: Maintains boilers, pressure vessels, and accessories for conformance to safety laws and standards. Keeps records and prepares reports of inspections and investigations . Performs standard tests, such as hammer, accumulation and hydrostatic tests to verify condition of boilers and other vessels. Inspects steam traps, disassembles and replaces parts as needed. Inspects and cleans steam bundles, checks for leaks and water pressure. Provides preventative maintenance and cleaning on boilers and auxiliary equipment. Adjusts thermostats and inspects inoperative heating and cooling units and pneumatic controls to locate causes of trouble. Disassembles, repairs and/or replaces defective parts as needed. Maintain campus buildings and equipment by performing routine maintenance and repairs for plumbing, light electrical, appliances, painting and other repairs as needed. Complete work orders as scheduled and communicates status of pending work orders with supervisor, residents and co-workers as necessary Maintain a high standard of customer service and professionalism at all times. Reports to work on time and as scheduled, maintaining a professional appearance in compliance with policies. After hours and weekend on call duty QUALIFICATIONS AND ABILITIES TO PERFORM JOB SUCCESSFULLY: Boiler and Pressure Vessel individual licenses class 3, or Class 5 License - Required Associates degree (A.A.) or equivalent training from two-year college; or three years related work experience in field of boiler operations and mechanics or equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedures. Able to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Must have knowledge and awareness to comply with all standard OSHA and State safety regulations and policies Ability to organize and prioritize work orders and responsibilities Experience maintaining pools and spas are considered a plus. Valid Oregon Driver's License preferred.
