What You'll Do: As a Pharmacy Finance Coordinator , you will carry out our Mission of Love by handling billing and collection of pharmacy charges, including cash posting and recording activity to the general ledger. Our Pharmacy Finance Coordinator are responsible for the following: Demonstrates in-depth knowledge of Medicare Part D, PACE, and Medical Assistance pharmacy regulations. Demonstrates basic knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, Medicare Parts A and B, and Medical Assistance regulations and other federal, state, and local regulations which govern pharmaceutical practices as well as OSHA regulations. Demonstrates the ability to communicate with appropriate levels of management on issues related to position responsibilities. Communication may include identification and documentation of the issue, gathering data, and development of an action plan. Provides information in appropriate format to record revenue, receivables, payments, etc. in the general ledger system. Demonstrates the ability to use systems as needed to meet operational needs, regulatory requirements, and maintain sufficient controls to ensure completeness and accuracy. This includes using pharmacy software to process prior authorizations, resolve rejections on a timely basis, produce various reports as necessary, and complete billing functions with a high degree of accuracy. Responsible to assist residents and/or family members with information and/or enrollment in the Medicare Part D program to assure appropriate pharmacy insurance coverage. Responsible for determining residents have appropriate pharmacy coverage within 30 days of admission. Communicate with Fraternal Care Coordinator if PACE benefits are needed. Update census and payer/plan information in pharmacy software and electronic health record system to include MED A and Hospice census. Work with providers, pharmacy staff, and nursing to notify when prior authorizations are needed and complete prior authorizations in a timely manner. Responsible to prepare and submit billing for all pharmacy third parties. Provide customer service and questions regarding charges and payments. Responsible for scanning checks via Desktop Deposit and for keying the corresponding cash receipts for pharmacy charges. Assist in the operations of the pharmacy charging system; enter and update third party plan information as it is received from MHA and other sources. Responsible for monitoring all commercial pharmacy receivables and resolving disputed pharmacy claims, making collection calls as necessary. After authorization, enter any appropriate adjustments or write-offs for pharmacy receivables. Transmit any electronic pharmacy billing as necessary. Process remittance advices (835 files) received and reconcile information through NetRx. Maintain NetRx reimbursement reports. What You Definitely Have: High school graduate or equivalent. Related associate degree in Accounting or minimum two years of accounting experience (preferred). Two years experience in receivables and collections (preferred). Pharmacy experience (preferred).
