Requirement Summary In this role you will be responsible for guiding the development of innovative solutions for our customers through the entire design process, from concept to manufacturing and commercialization. You will offer vision and guidance to the multidisciplinary team as they perform research, build prototypes, and deploy mature products. You will be the person who reaches out to manufacturing firms for production and makes sure the prototype works as planned. Responsible for validating the product in the eyes of the customer, and refining the prototype for production. Responsibilities Identify meaningful user requirements through interactions with the customer Conceptualize and investigate user-focused solutions to meet customer requirements Must have experience to design, develop, procure, and fabricate functional models or prototypes to obtain user feedback and iterate designs Drive the design process through technical decision points Presentation of results to customers (written and oral) Support business development through proposal writing and the pursuit of strategic partnerships Must have experience in coordination and management of vendors and suppliers as we transition products from prototype stage to manufacture You will be expected to work with colleagues on small teams on a diverse array of projects. You will communicate clearly and effectively with customers, partners, and vendors. Qualifications Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to maintain multiple concurrent projects, provide deliverables on schedule, and document the effort Experience with solid modeling/design, SolidWorks preferred Must have experience with product design process (Define, Ideate, Design, Prototype, Implement) Design for manufacturing experience is strongly desired Looking for someone with knowledge of manufacturing and fabrication methods, as well as product launch. Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals. Adaptability and desire to learn new technologies Education/Experience BS in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Biomedical Engineering, or related engineering field; Advanced degree is desired 5+ years of experience working in manufacturing product design or related fields Due to the nature of our business and information associated with this position, interested candidates must be US Citizens.
