POSITION: Research Nurse Hourly Grade 22 - $51.35 - $61.24 DEPARTMENT: Division of Gender, Sexuality & Health DESCRIPTION: Working closely with the Principal Investigators, the Research Nurse will work as part of a team and be involved in various data collection, processing, analysis, and dissemination activities. Additionally, the Nurse will provide specialized adherence counseling to research participants and facilitate an mHealth smartphone application. DUTIES: The Research Nurse will be responsible for the following: Participating in and leading study recruitment activities Collaborating with the study team to further develop research and data collection materials, including an mHealth application Conducting study visits, which include (but are not limited to) administering placebo pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) injections, and training participants to self-inject placebo PrEP Providing participants with study adherence support in-person and through an mHealth application Conducting participant surveys and interviews Participate in data management, analysis, and dissemination activities Strong scientific writing skills Ability to work independently under limited supervision Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills Minimum Qualifications: Successful candidates must have a current New York State nursing license. Current Nursing School students without previous research experience (including licensed students) who wish to gain these skills are encouraged to apply. As this is an entry level position, the candidate should have at least 6 months - a year of experience or training in the following: conducting participant surveys & interviews involvement leading study recruitment activities experience working with gender diverse populations Preferred Qualifications: Spanish language fluency is preferred. RFMH employees may be required to be vaccinated for COVID-19 depending on work location and must provide proof of vaccination. Individuals that are not vaccinated for COVID-19 are ineligible for appointment to positions that require vaccination. Fully vaccinated is defined as two (2) or more weeks since receiving either the second dose in a two-dose COVID-19 vaccination series (e.g., Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or the first and only dose of a single-dose vaccine (e.g., Johnson & Johnson [J&J]/Janssen).
