Cost Accountant

Cost Accountant will be responsible for the regular recurring cost accounting, analyses and reporting work, but will also focus on the continuing automation and integration of the Company's manufacturing, order entry, and accounting systems to provide on-line visibility of inventory and cost of sales data, improve product costing information, and eliminate rework and waste. GENERAL DUTIES Collecting and analyzing data about company's operational costs. Setting standard costs of Manufacturing goods. Developing and analyzing cost standards. Carrying out cost-volume-profit (CVP) analysis, including for small business. Establishing costs of business processes such as administration, labor, shipping, etc. Performing account reconciliations. Preparing audit reports and presenting their findings to management. Prepare cost forecast (monthly, quarterly, yearly.) Assist in closing month-end and year-end and analysis of results. Recommending changes to the company's processes and policies to reduce costs and maximize profit. Testing systems to ensure they are properly recording, accumulating, and reporting product cost. Close inventory and cost of sales monthly including the preparation of inventory and SKU profitability reports. Perform other duties as assigned. Collaborate with manufacturing and financial management to evaluate current systems and processes to determine if there are advance alternatives that may be available to us to develop, automate and/or integrate, including the integration of machines to process/work systems. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science in Accounting with three to five years of experience as a Cost Accountant in an organization that has been oriented to develop manufacturing and product costing systems and procedures in an ERP environment. Exceptional quantitative analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills, with a successful track record of finding new efficiencies and automating existing processes to provide on-line visibility of inventory and cost of sales data, improve product costing information, and eliminate rework and waste, including the elimination of manual inputting, processing, reconciling, correcting, and a lot if not all of the other non-thinking work.
