POSITION SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Crew Foreman, the Micro-Surfacing Driver safely operates and maintains micro-surfacing equipment to resurface roads . DUTIES: Maintain and clean assigned truck and perform daily pre and post trip inspections. Report any truck mechanical problems to maintenance division. Obey all traffic laws and ensure a safe and healthful work environment at all times. Assist other employees and work with others as a team on a construction crew. As needed, operate equipment in a safe and efficient manner. QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance. Must have CDL-A with Tanker and Doubles or Triples endorsements; current DOT Medical Card; and a clean, insurable driving record. Able to work well with others in a team environment and follow instructions. Able to move at least 100 pounds. Willing to work long hours, including the possibility of working out of town for extended periods of time. Able to work in extreme outdoor temperatures. PHYSICAL DEMANDS/SAFETY: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. Sitting : 50% of time Standing: 20% of time Driving: 30% of time Weight Lifted: Must frequently be able to lift and carry up to 65 pounds. May occasionally lift items above their head. Physical Movement : May frequently be required to walk over uneven ground, balance, stoop/crouch, kneel, grab and hold objects. Required to climb a ladder on the truck several times a day. Speaking / Listening : Needs to be able to communicate well with customers, dispatch, supervision, receive and follow instructions, and understand safety requirements. Working Conditions: 40% of time will be spent working outside in the elements. Must be able to work long and irregular hours (early and late) during the busy season.
