Personal discretion and judgement are needed in this role. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the coordination of client services to educate, train and guide clients regarding financial decisions and budgeting tools. Coordinate and implement individual and group trainings for clients and staff to attend to increase proficiency in the area of financial health to improve client's capacity to sustain independently to the best of their ability. Collaborates with residential counselors, supervisors, care coordinators etc. in the coordination of care for clients to include budgeting education. Assist residential team with collecting income information, calculating rent payment worksheets, addressing balances and plans for repayment. Maintain Quarterly Rent Tracking for all programs. Perform as liaison regarding client accounts and balances as well as provide necessary documentation for their files and reconciliation of client balances. Provide hands on assistance in debt collection with DSS, Nassau Suffolk Law Services, Social Security and Financial Management. Report year-end write offs of client balances to accounting. Responsible for making sure all leases are up to date and in accordance with FMR rates. Assist residential team in development and implementation of fiscal policies and procedures. Prepare and submit fiscal reports as needed (rent reasonableness, purchase order system, rent tracking, rental payment worksheet). Develop and distribute client invoices on a regular basis. Assist residential team with tracking rent payments as well as tracking and implementing plans for obtaining arears for accounts past due. Assist to educate clients regarding eligible benefits and the rules that govern these benefits, i.e. SNAP, SSI/SSDI etc. Responsible for entering the documentation for each client visit/interaction in the agency's electronic health record as instructed by the team leader within twenty-four (24) hours after said interaction. Formulate, affect, interpret, or implement management policies pertaining to finance and training. Employee provides consultation or expert advice to management and staff Involved in planning long or short-term business objectives Other duties and assignments as requested by the Program Manager, Program Director and/or Assistant Director. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Associate's in finance, accounting or any other related field. Minimum of 1 yr. experience/knowledge of accounting and financing; Experience with clients with special needs is preferred Advanced knowledge with Financial Planning and teaching BENEFITS We offer an attractive and competitive benefits package.
