Engineering Specialist 1 ASPLUNDH ENGINEERING SERVICES Birmingham, AL, USA Asplundh Engineering Services The purpose of this position is to provide an entry level position with potential for growth within our engineering company. This position will be responsible for designing scope received from our customer Alabama Power. Knowledge of Alabama Power systems and processes is preferred but not required. Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering Degree is required for this position. We are looking for self-driven employees to design multiple projects while upholding our professional and safety standards. The Engineering Specialist will have multiple people assisting with the project. Employees in this position would be required to have great project managing skills and work great as a team. Requirements: Civil, Electrical, Industrial or Mechanical Degree required Prepares thorough and accurate technical reports, correspondence, documentation, calculations, and sketches with some guidance Demonstrates effective verbal and written communication skills, Sustains accurate records and files Creates positive working relationships with customers and coworkers. Supports the company's goals and represents the company positively and professionally Must have reliable vehicle with valid insurance and driver's license Microsoft Skills Must pass a drug screening test and APC background check Preferred: Knowledge of Alabama Power's systems (DistGIS, JETS) Drafting experience (AutoCAD, MicroStation) Salary Starting salary at $60,000.
